As yt mentioned, only do ilps if you are lazy to monitor/research the market. For APA, there are two main fees assuming you dont do any additional top ups, 2.5% pa of sales charge and 1.5% pa of aum to fund management. All these charges will be auto deducted from your investment value so techically there are no fees to pay except your premiums. There is no way that no fees will be charged to you, its just factored inside. To sum up, dont even start if you arent confident to finish it as surrendering halfway is the costly part.

Investments if possible, should be done by yourself and not out-sourced to an insurance company as there will be additional fees incurred.

There are charges such as:

  • Supplementary charge (first 12 years, 2.5%)

  • Benefit charge (for coverage)

  • Premium charge (for additional top-up, 5%)

  • Management fee (fund, 1.18%)
