Hi guys,I need some advice on whether which degree to choose. I am currently taking an accountancy degree in suss but I am considering to switch to finance. It will take 4 years to graduate if i choose accountancy (Honours) versus 3 years for finance (Basic degree). Hope to get some insight on which degree do you guys think is better in terms of career especially with the ongoing covid19 pandemic. Thanks!

I was in a similar situation as you around 6 years ago? :)
For me I chose BBA (Finance & Technoprenuership) rather than BBA (Accounting)
The reasons were:
It is shorter, I only got bachelors and no honors, so it took me only 3 years so I could go explore other things in school, eg Tennis, startups, NOC etc.
I can learn more about the economy and understanding companies balance sheets (which I like)
I don't plan to work in the big 4 accounting firms (PwC, KPMG, Deloitte, EY)
I hate going through excel sheet and finding errors with numbers (personally)
I enjoy business and finance more broader stuff

It depends on your objectives. Accountancy is a professional skill set - you need to put in the technical hours to get your fundamentals right and strong. Finance is broad and requires a very different skill set, depending on which part of the process you choose to specialize in.
Both converge towards a point where your reputation and network will count.
