I graduated with an accounting degree from SMU, but I'm worried if there career progression as an accountant?

I have friends who told me horror stories of their colleagues being in the same job for 3 years with no promotion or pay increment. Is accounting a dead-end job?

There will always be a need for accountants, but IT can replace most entry-level tasks. You will do well if you gain experience and improve yourself further in the area of financial compliance, consultany, IT, and data analytics.
