Should I get Prudential Prushield Premier, NTUC Enhanced Income Shield Preferred, or AIA Healthshield Gold Max A? What are the pros and cons you have experienced/heard of?

For example, Prudential has the highest premium for the policy holder (ANB 66-70) but I have heard that NTUC claims process is slower than average. AIA has lower premiums than Pru and I have not heard negative reviews about its claims process.

Any help or advice is appreciated. I am also open to other providers. Thanks!

Generally, the premiums are non-guaranteed and may be subjected to revisions upon renewal. Therefore, I will suggest for you to place greater emphasis on both the tangible and intangible benefits that the plan is able to provide.

As for the claim process, Ministry of Health has conducted a survey on the average turnaround turn: https://www.moh.gov.sg/cost-financing/healthcar...

Above all, I will suggest for you to work with an agent that you trust and has mutual respect for. This is because he will be the person to help and assist you whenever the need arise.

Hi Anon,

Just to understand, are you in the age band of 66-70 ANB? If you are, and looking at private healthcare coverage, premiums are generally on the higher end for almost all insurers, as generally people in that age band have a higher risk of hospitalisation.

If you are looking at something more affordable, you should consider looking at a hospitalisation plan that allows you to be warded up to a Class A ward in the Government Restructed Hospitals. And also as you can choose to be in a Class A ward, you have the option to be in comfort during the recovery.

Also do note that for all insurers now, the reimbursement of bills is only up to 95% if you add on the rider. If not, the annual deductible and co-insurance portion would be bore by you entirely.
