Should i consider AIA ABSOLUTE CRITICAL COVER vs AIA PRO LIFETIME PROTECTOR (ii) ?

Should i get AIA ABSOLUTE CRITICAL COVER vs AIA PRO LIFETIME PROTECTOR (ii)?

Currently, I only have health insurance. I have no dependents.

i am someone who does not do investments and i wish to purchase a CI plan. Should i get a pure CI plan or investment-linked CI plan?

For AIA pro lifetime protector (ii), can i make it in such a way that its coverage for CI (i.e. in terms of type of illnesses covered) will be the same as AIA absolute critical cover?

Thank you for your advice!

Simple answer is AIA Absolute Critical Cover (ASCC). Why?

You listed that your concern is to get coverage just for CI. ASCC gives a much more extensive coverage for CI than AIA Pro Lifetime Protector (PLP). ASCC covers things such as mental illnesses and also have reset benefit of up to 5x the sum assured as compared to PLP at 3x.

However, the catch is that ASCC does not have sufficient death coverage. The death coverage is a mere 5%. This is the biggest difference.

So if its true that you are looking for pure CI coverage alone, ASCC is the way to go.

Hi, there are a few questions to ask yourself before purchasing.

1) Are you looking for Protection or Investment?

2) Would you prefer certainty in protection coverage and sum assured?

3) How many CI conditions are you looking to cover for Early, Intermediate and Advanced CI? The standard number is 37 CI conditions.

4) Would you wish to cover more worldwide CI conditions, at a cheaper rate?

Ultimately protection and investment must be separated to give you the assurance in terms of protection coverage and investment returns.
