I intend to try to do investment banking as a career however I am quite confused whether a degree in business or accountancy degree would be more appropriate. Any suggestions? And those in the investment banking industry as tips to get in to the industry easier as I know this can be quick a competitive industry. Thanks

Both are fine. What is important are your grades (unfortunately) and of course internship experiences. Assuming you are in a 4 year degree, the suggested roadmap would be:
Y1 Summer: Finance related internship (doesn’t have to be IB related)/case competitions
Y2 summer: Finance related internship (but preferably IB)
Y3 Summer: IB internship (this is the most important one as you are looking to secure a FT role here)
There is a lot of materials online for you to read up on. WSO is a good place to start (although US centric). In my opinion, if you really want to explore a career in IB, be sure to have a game plan and stick to it. Make sure your grades are up to par and focus on the long game. There are many of your peers looking to break into IB as well so it is highly competitive. And echoing Yang Teng's point, "be likable"!

It doesn't matter.
The degree, whilst give extra points, is not the sole determinant or a passport...

More of my IB friends did Business rather than Accountancy, not sure if this is the case for the university that you're considering, but if it is, I would think it's better to do Business because networking with people in the field seems to be pretty important for IB.
