Sell existing HDB while waiting BTO

Currently staying in resale HDB bought from open market. If the BTO waiting is 7 years, do i need to sell my current HDB after flat selection or can wait until key collection 7 years later?

Hey, Steven, according to HDB, you don't need to sell your existing flat right after the flat selection. You will need to sell your existing flat within 6 months after your key collection.
