Residential Address and Government Benefits

Hi everyone,

I am about to move into a rented HDB property with my wife before moving into our BTO which will be ready next year.

Should we change our residential address to the address of the rented property? We were also wondering if by putting us under the same address, we will be considered a Singaporean household and be eligible for government benefits such as U-Save and GST rebates.

Any thoughts or advice? Thanks!

Yes, need to update HDB as occupier of the property - under law.
https://www.gstvoucher.gov.sg/usavenavbar - Eligibility - If your rent an entire flat, there must be at one Singapore Citizen tenant
