What are the pros and cons of rebates and cashback, and which is better? in which scenarios would one be better than the other?

Hi Anon,
We actually have 2 threads concerning cashback versus rebates here and here, do check them out!
To summarise, cashback and rebates are loosely used interchangeably, as both usually refer to a customer getting a certain percentage of their expenditure back, after they buy a product. However, it's mainly the backend mechanics of how you receive this money that's different, along with what you can do with it.
As to which is better, it really depends on your spending patterns and the number of credit cards that you have in your wallet/actively use. However, personally I'd go for cashback as most of the time it's not tied to a specific card!
Hopefully, this table stolen from this Seedly Article on the different Credit Card Rewards can help!
