Q - Dividend income portfolio with $100k investment for retiring parent

My father is planning to retire next year and he has about 100k in saving, planning to create a dividend portfolio which would serve as a passive income for him.

If you have to pick 5 tickers from SGX - what would it be?
Any tips/ticker suggestions/ etf suggestions - please share, thank you.

Hmm, perhaps you can consider Syfe REIT+. It's a roboadvisor portfolio but dividend oriented through REITs. Their dividend yield for the past year and the year before was 5.7% and 5.2% if I recall correctly, which is pretty decent considering the dividend slashes due to Covid-19.

You can supplement this with high quality companies that pay out a respectable dividend (our banks are a decent pick). This allows your portfolio to be slightly diverisified from REIT-based risks as well.
