Hey there!
Hospitalization plans are different from Whole Life plans. Hospitalization plans cover health care costs by reimbursing you for hospital admission, surgical costs etc. Whole Life plans, however, gives you a lump sum payout upon death, Total Permanent Disability and/or Critical Illness.
Hospitalization plans are fundamental in insurance because it covers the costs of hefty medical bills. The good thing is that your plan will be payable by CPF Medisave while the rider will be payable by cash. Do consult a financial advisor on your options!
Financial planning is an integral part of life. You can reach me here to find out more.

No it's not. A hospitalization plan can be funded by Medisave and cash (on the rider).
Definitely explore it as it is the fundamentals of insurance coverage.
