Seems pretty difficult to hit the min spend of $400 per month especially for students.

Well, I use a debit card basically as cash since it will directly deduct from my bank account. So the Frank debit card should be used like one too, just that there are additional perks of 1% rebate when you spend a min of $400, so "as you spend, you save". You can also many deals on STACK, so I would say this card functions abit more than a normal debit card.
But with everything else, if you don't find this card suitable, you can always apply for other debit cards, or even student credit cards like the Maybank eVibes or DBS Live Fresh student card that may better suit your needs.βββ
