My wedding planner made some mistakes while planning my wedding, and we had to fork out extra money to make up for their errors.?

I feel this is quite unfair. Is there legal liability on their part so I can demand for some kind of compensation? Thanks

You should have a look at the contract you signed with them. Is there an indemnity clause that would preclude you from pursuing legal action? Did you negotiate some kind of clawback clause in the event that they didn't perform up to your expectations? You may wish to speak with a lawyer who can advise you.

Besides going the legal route, you can take financial actions as well. Have you fully paid for their services? If not, you can withhold full payment unless they agree to make good on their mistakes. This is probably an easier way to resolve the issue than having to engage a lawyer.

Such liability issues are common with wedding planners, which is why many such companies often take up wedding planners insurance, which includes professional indemnity insurance.
