Maybank World Mastercard plus Amaze for 0.4 mpd on foreign education spend?

Maybank does not seem to have exclusions on education spend. The base earn rate on TREAT points is 1 point per dollar (10 points per 4 miles, or 0.4 mpd). Converting the foreign currency to SGD with Amaze would eliminate FCY fees. Is this reasoning solid?

I otherwise have to spend with Wise for 0.44% fees.
