Was there an article or blog comparing property price to workers' salaries?
how many years it takes to save up to afford a HDB then and now. even before the covid and inflation, i have this feeling that average (not median) workers salary hardly kept up with inflation, let alone property prices.
with all these high prices, i can understand why younger generation refuse to settle for low paying jobs. they simply cannot afford to!

Maybe a special escalating tax on those who resell their HDB at a certain % increase from the initial purchase price (i.e. the higher it is sold, the more tax % either seller or both buyer and seller has to pay - i.e. a direct penalty of profiteering from HDB/offering at high prices)?
There appears to be, sadly, that there must be some uncomfortable/unpleasant ways that inconvenient most if not all people in order for the need to understand that the value of HDB doesn't appreciate w its decreasing lease years... also for future generations.
Not so sure if govt will really intervene strongly because if u think abt it, they are land owner and want land to appreciate (i.e. asset to grow in value).
