Is it worthwhile to pay recurring fees to own S&P500 if i invest with Endowus by cash vs buying through a brokerage firm that charges once off fees?

Am looking to invest at least 10 to 20 years and noted that Endowus are charging low fees. But wondering if the recurring fees are worthwhile if i am unlikely to rebalance my portfolio since im looking mainly at s&p500?

Hi Anon,

Just want to highlight that Endowus is not just a fund purchase platform, but an advisory platform.

You get services that you cannot get through brokerages, such as

Having a bird’s eye view of your entire holdings with us, top 10 exposures for your individual goals, and the overall equities/bond/cash mix

  1. Rebalancing of investments, at no additional cost, to help you stick to your risk profile

  2. Getting a portfolio of low cost institutional share class funds - that is our biggest advantage. We allow clients to invest from a $100 per transaction,

  3. Having access to funds and investment strategies not available in normal brokerages.

If you are looking at using our services to just buy and hold largely S&P 500 then your needs are probably more cost-efficiently served by a brokerage. However, if you are looking at a total wealth platform across CPF, SRS and Cash, then we should be the best platform available in Singapore. Hope that helps!

I assume u mean owning S&P500 means index ETF like VOO, SPY etc.

According what you describe. I rather pay 1 time fee.
What is the justification for the recurring fee?
