Is it wise to invest in a new IPO company?

Since Confluent just IPO-ed, was wondering if its worth to jump in on the opportunity.

Underwriters usually inflate prices prior to IPO, and the 3-6months lock up period will result in sell-offs eventually...Would be good to wait out, unless its a DPO then would be a different story

In the past, it was very profitable to invest in a IPO company on launch day. However now there is an unusual hype behind IPOs, which caused most companies to be severely overvalued at IPO (see Coinbase). I would suggest waiting it out for a couple of weeks to see how the price reacts after the IPO. Cheers!
