Is it normal to meet people who keep quiet so as not to give majority advantages or let people know what they are thinking?

Do you meet such people in real life who do not share their strategies with you so that you will not achieve success like them?

Yes, quite normal to meet people like that in real life, especially in Singapore where things quite competitive. Some people don’t like to share their ideas or strategies because they scared others copy and do better, or they just want to keep their advantage. But not everyone like that one—got people who really willing to help and share also.

I guess everyone keeps some thoughts to themselves, else they are going to be over-sharing or sound like they know it all.

If someone's successful and you would like to know what's their secret ingredient, there's no harm asking in a polite way, though they do reserve the right not to share to protect their own interest.

To add, some might intepret them in the wrong way and may see them as know-it-all or arrogant if they share everything, so there's nothing wrong with them keeping to themselves too.
