Is it bad to quit a contract job when you’ve just accepted it?

I’ve recently been converted from a trainee to a 2-year executive position but I feel that I’ve had enough. Will it reflect badly on me if I quit in about half a year’s time?

Hi Anon!

First of all, congratulations on your conversion!
I’m happy for you as your company sees your value and hence the decision to convert 😁

It’s not wrong to resign - as it’s important to put yourself first, your own mental and physical health is of the utmost importance.

I left my first corporate job, 2 months after my probation, as I felt mentally and physically exhausted. It also gave me time, to reflect on what I really want and vision myself to be in years to come.

That being said, I suggest that you take a few days off for yourself and consider the goods and the bad of the company. It’s okay to leave a company, if there’s no growth or, its deteriorating your own health. Don’t worry about it reflecting badly on you, assuming that you’re still young, there’s still plenty of opportunities to make it up.
