Hey there!
Yes its possible! But do note that for Whole Life plans, your ECI rider will highly likely reduce your death benefit, ie. If your ECI rider coverage is the same as your death benefit, your payout will be given for CI and your plan will terminate without a death benefit. One way around it is to tweak the coverage for ECI eg. 50k instead of 100k so you actually have some death benefit. The other way around it is to get an additional rider but that will mark up your premiums considerably.
There are many insurers having promotion now eg. AIA is having a 15% off for Whole Life plans now. Do contact me if you need to explore your options.

It depends on the plan you are referring to.
For example: in a case of early critical illness, after the payout is given, is there any sum assured/ aspects remaining? Or is the rider an add on from these?
It still depends on what coverage you currently have and whether there is a need for $100k sum assured for early critical illness. Usually for early critical illness, having 1-2years of our annual income as the coverage will be sufficient.
Yes, there are companies with campaigns for life plans. For one, AIA is having a campaign till 19 August 2020, it's ending in a few days.
Please still do seek advise from a trusted advisor and decide only after confirming that it suits your needs instead of the campaign though..
