I think its a good place to start a career given Sg's 30x30 plan on food resilience and sustenance. Gain the skills and knowledge, get the right mentor, its a niche field, and not a sunset industry in SG at least for high tech agricultural sector.

I think it is important to pay bills, support family and dont be a burden to anyone, while pursue passion.

In term of prospect, I think in starting around $3k+, long term the salary cap is at around $5k+. Quite decent salary, can support family, if you have a passion go for it.
