Fee-Based Financial Advisory Manager at Financial Alliance Pte Ltd (IFA Firm)

Firstly, let me be upfront to say that I'm currently a licensed Financial Advisor from Financial Alliance. Hence, you may wish to verify some of the points that I am about to put out.

According to Financial Alliance's website, https://fa.com.sg, they are known to be an Independent Financial Advisor (IFA). To this end, let's cross-check the definition of the term "Independent" with MAS.

According to MAS on the guidelines on the use of the term "Independent" by Financial Advisers, one of the conditions that the firm needs to meet is that "it operates without any conflict of interest created by any connection to or association with any product provider". - Section on Conditions to be Met, 7.1(c)(iii).

You may read the full documentation from the 10 Page PDF from MAS on the Financial Advisers Act (Cap. 110), Guideline Number FAA-G05 here: https://www.mas.gov.sg/regulation/guidelines/gu...

Consequently, you may rest assured that an advisor from Financial Alliance is not affiliated with any particular insurance copmany.

Despite that, if you are feeling concerned on whether they will promote and advocate products from a single insurer, then I will encourage you to meet up with more than one Advisor from the firm, or to meet with Financial Advisors from different firms. In effect, not only will this allow you to understand your needs from multiple perspectives, it also allows you to verify facts and information so that you can make the right decision on whether any implementations are required.

An independent adviser typically recommends products from a range of providers.

If you are concerned that your financial advisor might only promote for a particular insurance company, you can consider using this app which I am using called Planner Bee, which provides a range of companies' products.

I have met advisors from financial alliance. don't think they are tied to any particular company, th...
