So I read that investing in US ETF generates a higher return than SG ETF, when taking into account y-o-y appreciation and dividend payouts. Just wondering, will these dividends and capital gains, be taxable? And I assume there will be forex impact too? If so will the returns still be better than SG ETF?

Forex impact.
and depending on the country of brokerage, usually US brokers, it is dividend withholding tax. no capital gains tax.
If SG brokers to buy US shares have other layers of fees such as custodian, platform, dividend handling fees.
had never calculated what will be the impact of these fees on the returns. I was disgusted by all those fsm, dollardex high fees. only invested in US market when robos came along with their single low fees.βββ
