Insurer vs Medical Doctors

Saw a forum letter and noted the dilemma faced by doctors. Would not have known if the doctor didn't write this. Maybe insurers can comment?

I've done a scope with subsequent biopsy on cyst, all covered by my insurance. Had many clients do it too. Insurers will not fuss over a simple biopsy. Insurers are more aware than doctors that benign might turn cancerous. I often come across cases where people with benign cysts/polyps/etc want to get insured, but when insurers ask for biopsy report, doctors will often reply that based on the image alone, it's benigh.

This letter lacks context, we don't know the exact circumstances of the claim. What we do know that healthcare costs are escalating and doctors are the one setting prices.

Insurers are profit maximising companies. if they can deny a claim, they stand to profit more. without government intervention for portability in insurance, once you sign an insurance, you are essentially bound and cannot 'vote with your wallet' without having any conditions you might have developed in life be denied or hit with 'pre-loading'. sucks but this is the state it is now

Lots of all these health insurance run by the rich tycoon business man who knows nothing bout health...
