In your opinion, when is the ideal age to start planning for retirement? If I am in my 20s, when I'm not even financially stable yet, planning for retirement seems to be too far-fetched. Thoughts?

If you can choose, what would be the ideal age to start planning for retirement?

I would say after you graduate and start earning an income, cause that is when u can start doing budgeting etc. See if you wanna buy endowment or retirement plan, basically all these need money to pay the premium

Ideal age? As early as possible, what’s stopping you from starting early? For most people it’s the lack of financial literacy, given that you’re here you are probably ahead of most people already.

One does not necessarily have to be ā€œfinancially stableā€ to start planning. Planning for retirement can include simple things like having an emergency fund parked in a high interest savings account, sorting out your genuine insurance needs or even putting $100/ month in a robo.

Unless you are laden with a mountain of high interest debt, or not drawing any income at all it’s never too early to start. Due to the magic of compounding, the earlier you start the ā€œeasierā€ it gets to reach your goal.
