If I buy the exact same ETFs as my portfolio in StashAway from SAXO (which has a custody fee of 0.12% per month), for this case am i better off with StashAway?

StashAway charged an annual fee of 0.8%.

What's the TER of your entire DIY portfolio, inclusive of SAXO custody fee? For StashAway, even if the TER is slightly higher than DIY - you are paying fees for features like portfolio curation, automatic rebalancing, convenience, etc.

I'm not sure what your question is really about, but if you're concerned about fees, just remember that it's not simply about paying less fees - rather, make sure the fees you're paying are worthwhile.
