IBKR (Interactive Broker) fraction shares purchase

Recently my friend is thinking to join IBKR instead of Tiger or moomoo because he mentioned IBKR allow fraction share purchase. That sound attractive. Anyone have buy fraction share in IBKR before?

Always been in the impression that for fraction shares, the purchase price will usually be higher than one full unit cost and there might be issue selling? Need some sharing from anyone here that have buy and sell fraction shares.

Anyone know if this is only for US stocks? Or can be other market stocks too?

Yes, I had been buying fractional shares using IBKR.

Fractional shares bid/ask spread may be wider than full shares, but for high liquidity stocks, it is not that bad. You may see the fractional share transactions I did last night in the attached image.

Fractional shares is only for US stocks in IBKR.
