I worked for an SME and decided to tender my notice and move on. After serving my notice the employer decides to deduct 25% my salary and explains its allowed by MOM, what can I do

It seems like it really is allowed while employer can come up with reasons on why they do so.

Run it by MOM, and TAFEP if you feel like you've been unfairly compensated.

It doesnt sound like it is allowed unless they cut your hours as well. but maybe just good to check with MOM?

Write to MOM, let them know about what your employer did, and ask them if it is indeed allowed.

Write to MOM with the black and white reason they furnish you, provide MOM with the UEN of the company. Tell the SME (your company HR) you will do this and do it. Unless you broke anything or cause losses due to your negligence and sign indemnity, deduction of 25% is very alarming.

Check with the HR for the official reason, like is it to cover back the excessive annual leaves you ...
