I'm a full-time private tutor who lost half my income when Circuit Breaker started last month. I would like to ask other private tutors how have you managed to do online teaching most effectively?

What are some tips you have on making online classes more engaging or assure parents that online teaching will be as useful or effective?

I'm teaching a primary school kid. Without seeing the student face-to-face, it is hard to know what's he thinking (visual cues) and if he's paying attention, especially when I am doing screen sharing.
