I'm conflicted about what I should do better to manage my finances as a 24y/o. Right now, I try to spend less on unnecessary things and am freelancing to earn on top of my $500 allowance.
I know it seems I'm in a terrible financial state, and I'm pretty sure there are people like me too out there who are looking to change their lifestyle or habits to prepare for the future, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can start to save by planning and tracking your expenses. Begin by creating budgets for how much you will be spending on food, entertainmentā¦ and save the rest.
I personally would also use a finance tracker app, itās called Planner Bee. You can check it out here if you want. It has the budget feature that I use to see how much I have already spent relative to my budget, which helps me to stay within budget.
