I know the risk in cryptocurrency and Bitcoin, but in terms of legality, does MAS approve it as legal tender?

I am beginning to be interested in crypto but still speculating and yet to understand it. Also, I see a big potential in money laundering and I might be subconsciously contributing to undesirable transactions. Unlike precious metals, which is legal and a tangible commodity (and gst free), crypto coins is intangible commodity and it relies on computers. I have doubts on its sustainability. Thoughts?

Cryptocurrency is not regulated and considered legal tender by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. And yes, cryptocurrency is a highly sought currency for unauthorised activities, such as money laundering and drugs as transactions and users remain anonymous throughout. Moreover, it's very volatile so I wouldn't recommend you to venture into it.

No, it's not a legal tender.
