I have investments in AIA USD Guaranteed 8 ilp. It gives about 4-5% in annual return in the past 20 years. The USD is projected to weaken in the yaers to come.

So i want to divest out of USD. Is there some other investments preferably in SGD that i can invest in that has similar low risk and similar returns?

I don't mind ETFs if there are any. I prefer to self manage, than use an insurance agent.

Given that you have already invested for 20 years, i'm assuming you are in your 40-50s minimally and should be looking for a mid-term investment idea - hence i would propose to go with any of the world index as it's more stable compared to going with S&P500 with an uncertain leader at its helm.

Lastly, are you able to cash out on your ILP without taking a penalty though? Cos that should be part of your consideration if it does.

Sorry to hear you got scammed into buying an ILP.

Invest in the local banks + world index ETF + SG government bonds & t-bills of money market fund. Yield could average to around 4% depending on allocation and still quite low risk.

SGD currently lowest risks are SSB and Tbills, but these give like 2.9-3%. nowhere near 4-5%. to get 4-5% you may need to take some risks in fluctuation like in bonds or equity funds.

currently endowments, FDs also give lower returns than 3%.

one low risk 4% i can think of is CPFSA, but it is not liquid until retirement.

the other slightly higher but still low risk is resale endowment policies, but the initial capital outlay is higher.

not financial advise. see what is your timeframe and needs.
