I am willing to take the time to understand individual stock, would it still be advisable to go into ETFs? Calculating the risk, capital, and returns that individual stock may poised. Any advice?

I believe the world is fair. Higher risk means higher return. When I expose myself to US market this year, I also started off with S&P 500 ETF. It is only when I am confident with the market then I started looking at individual stock.

Where should I put 10k right now? I do not have the time to monitor stocks and it's too high-risk for me so that's a no-go. Preferably a place where my capital will not decrease. I recently saw SSB and wonder if that's the best place right now?

Would you still invest in individual stock knowing that Nikko AM STI ETF is part of a listed company?
