ETFs hold different stocks, so as long as you diversify your investments away from concentrating in one industry, you should be okay.
Still, it will be good to diversify your equities with safer investment assets like bonds, T bills, money market funds. Don't concentrate all your investment in equities only!

I'm in my early 40s and have 7 thematic ETFs and 15 stocks, which feels OK to me.
The more you have, the more diversified you are, so there's no right answer. If you have more than 30 stocks, then you may as well just get an ETF. If you have fewer than 5-10 (not including ETFs) then you'd probably better be very confident in assessing their financials and valuations, otherwise it's high risk.
