How much do you need to retire? Work backwards from there to see if your investments/savings are sufficient.
Are you still working or retired? Maybe you can leverage your expertise on a project basis to bump up some income.
Have you discussed with your family on your concerns? Have an open discussion and see how your family can come together to support everyone. Put it in perspective for your kids so that they are aware of the situation. Help them to gain better financial literacy before they go out into the workforce.

First of all, i would say it is not too late! Congrats on raising four wonderful kids who are all doing well in life getting into tertiary education! It is not uncommon to find parents wanting to give the best for their kids even at their own expense.
However, now that your kids have grown up, it is also time to think for yourself. Yes...this may mean having a later requirement or cutting down pocket money to your kids BUT having enough is also thinking for your kids in the future and avoiding the usual "sandwhich" generation problem.
