Are there any tips on saving coffee money when buying wedding rings? For example using certain credit cards or offering to pay fully in cash but at a discount (relevant when buying watches idk about rings) Was also thinking to purchase now (even though I'm planning to propose 1-2 years later) to evade the gst hike and also inflation, is this a valid point? Would love to hear what others have to say 🙂

Hi Andrew
For diamond rings, I suggest you look online for good quality and affordable diamonds. Personally I would suggest avoiding the usual retail store as their prices are marked up significantly. This is due to the fact that they have to pay for rental, manpower and etc. For diamonds I suggest you can check out Luxiee (Based in SG, import from overseas; this allow you to verify the diamond certificate no. - my partner got my diamond here and set it somewhere else at a local retail store), Blue Nile Diamond, James Allen. These shops prices are very competitive. Some can even be compared to lab grown. However do note that as a general guideline, once u exceed 1 carat the price of the diamond will increase significantly. 0.9 is much cheaper than 1 carat.
Ps: To ensure your partner likes the ring you can try shopping for rings together to find out the preferred diamond size and setting.
