Hi all, I have decided to resign from my 1st job and would like to ask for your advice on how to do so.
I have written a resignation letter and intend to email it to my hiring manager and HR. Do I print it out and have a face to face meeting with the hiring manager and pass the physical copy before I send the email? Or is it ok to break the news in a face to face conversation and then email the letter afterward?
Your kind advice is greatly appreciated!

Probably face to face to hopefully smooth things out and exit on a good note, followed shortly by the official resignation letter.

It is better to talk to your direct manager first as they will need to discuss and find out the reason for leaving. After that, ask if you should email the formal reaignation letter to him/her. Ask if you should also email the letter to HR, because for some organisation, it is for the direct manager to accept the resignation and inform HR and trigger the disboarding process. Your manager may also need time to inform their manager and higher management.
