Just curious, as I donโt really know how much I need to save before I am able to build my own diversified portfolio.

Used to buy 4 to 6 units of VT each month manually through SCB. Worked out to around 200-300 USD per month back then when VT was around 50+ USD. Back then I didn't know better about cost effectiveness - how important fees were. I just read up about ETFs and decided that it would give me a diversified portfolio straight away. There were no roboadvisors or RSPs like the DBS investsaver back then too.

I started with a lump sum on Keppel DC REITs. Subsequently I start to use roboadvisor Syfe for their REITs+ portfolio. Then I slowly to look into using Saxo for US market investment.
Maybe you can start understanding your risk appetite, time horizon and current financial condition you are in(such as debt, commitment or other expenses) before you choose what type of portfolio you want to do. Do give yourself at least 6 months of emergency fund based on your monthly expenses, then you can slowly allocate a percentage of your monthly earning in investment.
