My thought on this is that most property don't last beyond 40 years. You will need to rewire, change blocked pipe, etc due to natural wear and tear. When these happened, you rather buy a new property than to renovate so extensively. (Especially considering your age when it happens)
So for me, while I want my house as a forever home, the reality will force me to change house. So my plan is, assuming I get my first house at 40 years old, I probably will stay there until 60 years old. At 60s, I probably still have the strength physically and mentally to deal with buying a new property to switch over. This new property will probably be my forever home till my passing.
