How do you utilize your miles efficiently? Since most banks have a xfer rate of 10k/blk if an award flight is 54k, how do you top up the 4k?

Ah, the dreaded transfer block limitations. This is a bit of an annoyance if you don't redeem that frequently, but a couple of ways to get around it is to either have a co brand card which credits the miles directly, or have the OCBC 90N which allows you to transfer in blocks of 1000 miles without any fee.

There are also other ways to transfer low number of miles such as through Grab, but represent poor value and I don't really recommend that.
