No growth due to slow/compliance ridden environment and zero game plan for your free time
It is okay if due to slower pace you manage some form of work life balance and you use this out of work time to grow in ways you enjoy.
Growth for the sake of growth mindset exacerbated by culture that values 24/7 productivity
Rest and space is vital for making good decisions that create value and results in satisfaction. Rushing all the time to grow faster and faster and hit higher and higher targets without space to think is a recipe for burn out.
Disregard of personal care
When you don’t invest in yourself whether mentally, physically or emotionally because you’re only focused on sacrificing time for work
Colleagues, despite best efforts, are not collaborative
Even if you’ve given more than taken and colleagues don’t open up and work collaboratively, this is going to slow your career growth significantly. Unless this is the pace you hope for and want.
You know you are very unhappy with your current status quo but you’re scared of leaving
This could be because you put in a lot and now you have some form of loss aversion. You’ve forgotten you can create value elsewhere and still achieve satisfaction. Regarding this fear, it helps to remember that there are no right or wrong paths. Whether in personal life or career. More paths branch out as you make your decisions and close certain doors. Sometimes if you can also make sure that as you close doors, they aren’t locked forever by focusing on achieving that outcome as you leave.
