How do I minimize fees when I want to wrap Ethereum to use on the Polygon network?

I would like to interact with the polygon network using WETH, is there a cost efficient way to do it without incurring too much gas fees?

Hi! I'm not sure if I am too late, but if you have Ethereum on an exchange, I recommend sending it to ascendex exchange as they allow you to deposit USDC directly into polygon network without paying the ETH gas fees.

Here's my referral code if you found this comment useful!

The way I did it (not saying it's the best), was to transfer out MATIC (onto Polygon network) straight from my exchange (FTX) and swap on polygon (using like Quickswap, Sushi or whichever DEX you trust). I believe Binance also supports MATIC withdrawals, alhough I cannot confirm as I've not tried it yet.

If you're holding coins in like BSC or ETH and trying to migrate to polygon, there are bridges available. For stables from BSC to Polygon, you can use xpollinate (although the liquidity is kinda spotty). For other assets. For other assets from ETH to Polygon, you can use this: https://wallet.matic.network/bridge/ (note that you can't escape the ETH gas fees if you're on ETH HAHAH).

If you transfer anything other than MATIC onto polygon, you can use any MATIC faucet to get you some MATIC as gas. Some good ones are:
