How can SG retail investors buy into/access the US Treasury bond?

Must go through a 3rd party or possible via brokerage like Standard Charted/IBKR etc?

Why don't the CPF simply buy more of the higher yielding government bonds at 4%, instead of buying those yielding 2.5%? And then pass the higher interest rates to us?

Funded Saxo with sgd for buying US stocks. Now is USD account. Can I still transfer SGD to buy SG shares? Will Saxo show 2 different balances ie. SGD and USD?
