I have parents who are in their 60s, they both have pre-existing conditions and I am not sure what kind of hospitalization plans they have but its either the super basic ones or just the base medishield plan. Is it still possible to sign them up with something more comprehensive at this stage?

Hi Anon, based on my experience, when you mention comprehensive, I'm assuming that you mean that everything is covered, then very likely, no.

Your parents will most likely have to pay a loaded premium, where they'll have to pay more for coverage, they might get an exclusion for those pre-existing and related conditions, or they may outright be declined.

Do talk to their advisor to see what you can do for them in this case.

Well, it depends on what are their medical conditions, and also some insurers are more tolerance while some are less. For example, diabetic will be immediately declined by most insurance companies, but there is at least 1 or 2 that will consider, if the condition is not very serious. I maybe able to help, if I can know more about their conditions.
