Hi anon,

This really depends on the policies of the bank, but I have clients in IB as well and they are still allowed to buy Mutual Funds UTs or ETFs.

Some IBs may require that even Mutual Fund or ETF purchases be cleared by compliance before they can be bought.

I also face restrictions myself because my spouse is in a asset management firm, especially for shares.
