Hello, is it common to not have any pay increment at all when I am been working in the company almost 2 years? Also, what is the average time needed to get promoted?

Hello, just want to hear some career advice because this is my first job after graduating from university and I have been receiving the same pay from day 1 I started even I have been in the company for almost 2 years.

In my experience, many companies offer annual pay increases, even if they are modest, which is better than nothing. When it comes to promotions, it's important to be proactive. You should speak with your manager to understand what steps you need to take to be considered for a promotion.

Don’t wait for a promotion to come to you on its own. Similarly, for a salary increase, have a conversation with your manager about how you might expand your role to justify a higher pay.

Yes it can be the case, especially when the company incorporates bonus payouts and other increments into the base pay package (making it higher in the first place).

But do check and see if your job is still good so far after 2 years, instead of the increments.

A good working environment is something money cannot buy.

Personally, my experience is that most companies give yearly pay increment, albeit small, but better than nothing. As for promotion, you need to take initiative and ask your reporting manager what you can do to qualify for a promotion.

You cannot expect your promotion to drop from the sky without taking initiative. Same thing for pay increment; just ask your RM if you can expand your role to get higher salary.

Time to jump. No increment = pay cut once you take inflation into account....
