Hi I'm writing this for every other Singaporean X foreigner spouse to let every other international Singaporean couple know that it is possible for our foreign spouse salary to be included into HLE appeal
No agents could have helped me as none I known had knowledge about this issues.
I'm sick and tired of people telling me otherwise so I'm listing my issues and details here for everyone

So yes, your foreign spouse salary CAN BE included in the HLE application don't let anyone tell you it's impossible.
A little bit about me
Renting a room at River valley, orchard Monthly rental: 1200 Rented for: 1 year++
Singaporean Female 26 years old Salary: 2500
Japanese Male 31 years old Salary 6XXX
Applied for HLE:July 3rd HLE Approved: July 17th Approved amount: 360K
How to appeal? The Singaporean must apply for HLE first. Then you will be given a HDB Agent incharge of your HLE. Once you know your assigned agent. Send them a message through the HDB site and ask to appeal
My approval could have been much faster if it's not for me not having the right documents
During appeal they will ask for this few documents:
Credit report for both you and your spouse 6 months rental invoice Rental contract CPF statements for the past 12 months 6 months payslip for your spouse Bank statements for the past 6 months with salary deposited for both you and your spouse
HDB ethnicity quota and does it affect me? ( Foreign spouse version)
If you are like me who are married to a NON CHINESE OR MALAY!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! you can choose "others" and can flip through the property sites for cheaper resale flats

Hi! Thanks for the helpful information and I am sure this is very useful information even for myself and my friends included. Thank you very much for putting in the work that others haven't.
Perhaps your experience with agents was a bad one but I am sure there is no need to over generalize and shoot an insult across to all agents. Even in your search for the answer, you had to weave through websites and agents before getting an answer, so I am certain it is not that the agents are not trying to help, it could very well be that they have tried but not succeeded in ascertaining an answer to your needs. I think the seedly community-driven society could do a lot better with embracing uncertainty and empathy in doubtful circumstances.
Again, I see where your frustration and anger comes from especially when this issue of housing is an important one for you and your partner. But let's work together to reduce the negativity and anger within the seedly community :) This way we, myself and you included, can have an environment where we are not afraid to ask "stupid" questions. I'm sure you can see where I am coming from.

The HDB ethnicity quota applies based on household ethnicity, which is determined based on your choice between the partners. However this household ethnicity is irreversible throughout the whole HDB ownership. Thus you buy cheap, you also sell cheap (if you choose to resale it in future). But its true that you do not need a bigger pocket to get a roof over your head.
