I will use the idea of sale to trick the mind. buying during a sale will be cheaper, but big sale only happens during the few big dates in a calender year. So maybe can try that. so wait lor..haha

To control impulse purchases, I try not to buy on the spot even when the temptation to do so is high. Give yourself time to think about it - whether you really need the item or will you really use the item frequently if bought etc. For online shopping, I will do the same by first adding to my cart without purchasing first to give myself sometime to think.
For big ticket items that I really want, I usually wait for the year end sale etc to buy to save some bucks.

The money you've spent is sunk cost.

Not using the items is the ultimate waste of the money already spent :) you should use the item well, give it away or sell it To recover some money.

Control impulses - you may want to keep how you are feeling in mind so you don't make impulsive purchases. Always think about whether you have a real use for it. I used to buy on impulse when I see discounts, but even if you 'save' 70%, you are still spending 30% (as opposed to 0 if you don't buy at all)

Since you have already bought the items, you should just accept that you have made the purchase and use the items. If you really couldnāt bear to use, you can consider selling or giving them away as gifts, giving the items another purpose.

Here are some ways I use to control impulse spending:
Donāt open shopping apps at night. I often rush to check out when itās late at night.
Leave items in the shopping cart and quit the app, eventually you will forget about the items
If thereās something I want from a physical store, I would usually take a picture of the item and give myself a week to think about it. Usually I will not remember about the item.
BUDGET! I use an expense tracker, Planner Bee, to create budgets for myself. Every time before I buy something, I would open the app to check if I have the budget to do so.
Hope these tips are useful since they worked for me!
