Let me answer in another way. if you get the point, it will help you in your lifelong career and your career planning.

When I interview someone, I ask them how many years of experience they have? Some of the interviews, i conclude that it was a 1 day experience multipled by 10 years, which they say is 10 years experience. And some are indeed a 10 years experience.

What is the difference? Some jobs, you learn it in one day and execute forever and they call it 10 years experience. Some jobs, you keep learning and you may never ever know everything but you learn and manage along the way. That is 10 years experience. When you work, at the end of every month. Ask yourself what is one new thing that you have learnt and write that into your resume. If you have nothing to write, and this happens for three months, you have to think if it is good for your career especially if you are young.

Finally for your last part of the question, if you are doing the right thing in your career, you may never truly get the hang of things 100% of the time. That is called growth.

Ballpark I will say anything from 3 to 6 months to be familar and comfortable at your workplace. If you still dont get comfortable and happy by 6th month, something is wrong and you have to find out what it is.

Worse case is to quit after 1 year and find another job.

It's normal to feel anxious when transitioning to any new environment.
