Financial advisors recommendation

Well, not really sure by your definition of "independent", but there are IFAs from several firms which the kind folks have mentioned.

But I would like to point out the point made by CH, that if u are looking for real independent independent kind, I have not encountered one personally. And those from IFA firms, they only sell what are available from the firm, basically told what to sell.

So, read up, read wide, talk to a lot of ppl to find what are your real needs and which one fit u best.

Hmmm, you can research on finexis, providend; they are companies with independent advisor. But do take note that it is the advisor himself or herself that will make a big difference, not the company.

If possible, it is actually better to DIY based on my own experience. I have a finexis advisor. While he is good at it, but I have different approaches at times and I will invest in my own way, together with his. You also need to learn investment knowledge so that you don't get con by bad advisors.

Oh yes, very importantly, please do NOT buy any investment linked policies (ILPs) from any insurance companies. Many advisors will try to upsell you ILPs.
